    Due to  roadworks, the exit "Noto", on the freeway A18, Siracusa-Gela, will be temporary closed for entrance and exit from 7:00 am of February 20 to 6:00 pm of March 3, 2017.

    Coming from Syracuse it's suggested to take the freeway exit "Avola", from the Ragusa area it's suggested to take the exit "Rosolini".

Noto is not directly on the seaside but there are several villages with wonderful beaches, few miles from Noto. During the summer months there's also a shuttle bus service between Noto and the beaches. The bus station in Noto is in piazza Pantheon, at the public garden, near the old town center.   • The Infiorata flower festival in Noto

    Infiorata flower festival in NotoThe Infiorata flower festival is certainly the most important event yearly organized in Noto. The Infiorata takes place during the third week-end of May. It's like a festival of spring to celebrate the best period to visit Sicily, when the countryside is green and filled with flowers before the hot summer months. The central point of the Infiorata festival is via Nicolaci in the town centre of Noto. The little town of Noto is located southerly from Syracuse and is in the Unesco world heritage list for its elegant baroque buildings. Every year a new theme is choosen for the Infiorata.

     The artists start their working on Friday evening. Via Nicolaci is divided in parts and the flower-masters draw the draft of their works on the road. The works are completed with thousand of flower petals. On Saturday morning the Infiorata is finished and via Nicolaci appears as a long and colorful flower carpet. There are also a lot of other events organized in Noto during these days like a baroque historical parade, exhibitions, food and wine tastings, guided tours, music concerts and much more. Every year, during the Infiorata, Noto is crowded with visitors from all over the world.

    Noto, in the province of Syracuse, in the south-eastern part of Sicily, is one of the "baroque jewels" of the island. Thanks to the magnificent architectural details of its churches and nobiliary buildings, the town  belongs to the world culture heritage list of Unesco. The town is also known as "stone garden". If you are visiting eastern Sicily, Noto is surely worth a visit. It's possible to visit the historic town center in a half day.
