During December 2017 and January 2018, on holidays, the duomo di Monreale will open to visitors at following times:
- December 8: from 8.00 to 9.30 and from 2.30 to 4.30
- December 24: from 8.30 to 9.30 and from 2.30 to 4.30
- December 25: from 8.30 to 9.30 and from 4.00 to 5.00
- December 26: from 8.30 to 12.45 and from 2.30 to 4.30
- January 1: from 8.30 to 9.30 and from 4.00 to 5.00
- January 6: from 8.00 to 9.30 and from 2.30 to 4.30
During the other days the cathedral of Monreale will open at the usual timetable: workdays 8.30-12.30 and 2.30-4.30, Sundays 8.00-9.30 and 2.30-4.30.

The Sicilia cultural heritage office has communicated that many regional monuments, museum and archaeological sites will be closed on December 25, 2016.
Visitors are suggested to phone and check the opening times during the Christmas days of the monuments they want to visit.
Unfortunately an official list was not published now by the cultural heritage office.
According by the information of the newspapers the Valley of the temple in Agrigento and the ancient theater in Taormina will be open also on December 25.
Museum and archaeological sites in the province of Syracuse, including the Neapolis archaeological park, will be closed.
