Classical plays 2013 in Syracuse
The appointment with the classical plays at the Greek theater of Syracuse will be renewed in 2013 too. These traditional and evocative shows are organized by the INDA (the National Institute for Ancient Drama) and bring to the scene ancient Greek tragedies of Aeschylus, Sophocles and Euripides. The scenery is given by the suggestive ruins of the Greek theater of Syracuse.
The 49th cycle of classical plays will take place from May 11 to June 23, 2013. This year are scheduled two tragedies, "Oedipus rex" and "Antigones" by Sophocles and "The assembly women" by Aristophanes.
The complete program of the classical plays is available on the INDA website. The prices go from 32 € for not reserved seats to 64 € in the main sectors. Some days are reserved for "popular prices" at 26 €. The complete price list is published on the official website.
